The field guide

Bring a source. Make a precise point.

Prepare a paper suggestion, correction, author response, or profile update.

Useful contributions identify a record and the change it supports. A missing paper, overlooked limitation, corrected affiliation, or reply to a commentary can all improve the guide.

Suggest a paper

  • Title, authors, DOI or stable source URL.
  • Metal, organism or community, setting, and study design.
  • What was measured and why it belongs in the guide.
  • An important limitation or contradictory finding.

Correct or respond

  • The site page and exact passage or field.
  • The error or interpretation being disputed.
  • Proposed replacement wording or clarification.
  • A primary source and relevant interests.

A brief you can reuse

Open Karen's professional contact form ↗Paste your brief there and send it when you are ready. This opens an external website.

Send your prepared brief

Use Karen Pendergrass's professional contact form for your prepared paper suggestion, correction, or response. Paste the brief into your message and submit it there. Her official ICS profile identifies her institutional role and research records. The researcher directory links to official professional profiles.

Preparing a brief does not deliver it to an editor or guarantee publication. Share public evidence and professional contact information; exclude private records and identifiable patient information.

Profile and image updates

Include the official profile URL and corrected affiliation, research focus, ORCID, or public professional email. For a photograph, include a source, credit, and permission or license allowing reuse. Do not use a generated portrait to represent a real researcher.
